I generally lean towards genre fiction and love books with either a more campy nature or a darker atmosphere! ☆
This book is the feeling of another hand in yours that comforts you when the going gets rough. It doesn't tell you "it's going to be okay." It says "I understand."
And there's nothing quite like that.
We're all trying our best, we really are. This heartwarming story of a hostage situation in an apartment viewing will have you laughing one minute and crying the next. With his excellent characters and excellent use of flashbacks you'll slowly unravel just how everything is connected. There's the good and the bad but what happens for the rest of us left in the gray, it's messy and it sucks, but we can get through it "one bite at a time". ♥
Witches, royalty, and Revolution. Oh my!!
Dani and Dorian are forced to pick their side in a revolt against the monarchy. While light and whimsical the darker moments can feel quite sobering in comparison. I read this back when it was a webtoon alone. A plot twist threw me through a loop, and it will come center stage in vol.2! Strap in this story is a ride and I'm here for it!

Objects with personalities that can move on their own. People with the power to travel through mirrors, see into the past of whatever they touch, and create vast sublime illusions. Gods who have unique magics that seep into the floating lands they rule over. Dabos weaves a world of mystery and intrigue in her series The Mirror Visitor Quartet.
What if our world had doors to other dimensions?
Join January in discovering her history. finding her missing father, escaping a mysterious league, and sleuthing out just what these doors are and how they work. I loved the flowry language and pacing of this book and definitely suggest giving it a shot if you're a fan of unique sci-fi/fantasy.
Love the movie? Both the film and the book are horror masterpieces. Two very different experiences that are both worth it. Each encounter is so immersive and well detailed you'll feel like you're in the Overlook yourself, and believe me it's anything but dull...
Amy is the perfect wife. She's smart, funny, kind, and nothing like other women Nick has met. All that and not to mention a stone cold psychopath. Follow the investigation and figure out if Nick killed his wife Amy after all.
The Salt Grows Heavy is a beautiful tapestry of words that I enjoyed immensely. With a post-apocalyptic and fable-like feel to it, it sweeps you up in a tale of woe decorated with the love that a mermaid has for her plague doctor.
Feel seen and heard with this book about honoring yourself and giving allowances for your invisible disability when it comes to keeping your house functional. It's a warm hug to neurodivergent people who need to leave judgement and morality out of their cleaning habits.
All I can say is wow. I wasn't sure what I was expecting going into it, but I was more than pleasantly surprised at what I got. If a fast paced, action packed, character driven story that knocks your socks off by the finale is what you're looking for, you're in luck.
