Storytime with Violet Lemay author of "Alithia Ramirez Was An Artist"
ALITHIA RAMIREZ WAS AN ARTIST written and illustrated by Violet Lemay (On sale: October 10, 2023). Violet taught illustration at Savannah College of Art and Design for 14 years and all of her author proceeds for this book are being donated to the Alithia Haven Ramirez Summer Seminar Scholarship Fund run through SCAD.
"Alithia Ramirez Was an Artist" was written as a tribute to (then) ten-year-old girl, Alithia Ramirez, one of the 21 victims of the school tragedy that took place in Uvalde, TX on May 24, 2022. The book was written and illustrated by Violet Lemay (including art from Alithia) with the support and permission of Alithia's parents. This book is meant to be a celebration of who Alithia Ramirez was, and all of the artwork that she created (and continues to inspire through Alithia's Art Angels).
Books will be available for purchase at the event.
Only books purchased from E. Shaver, Booksellers will be signed by the author at this event.
This is a free event that will take place at our E. Shaver, Starland location at 1921 Bull Street.
